In month of April or after harvesting of rabi crop, do deep ploughing. It will help to destroyed eggs of Insect. After ploughing for three-four times carryout planking operation and leveled soil so that water stagnation will not occurred in field. Should have row distance between 40 - 45 cm. Plant/Seed should be sown at a distance of 8 to 10 cm. Seed depth should be in between 3.0 and 4.0 cm.

Kharif crop irrigation is not needed and it is grown rainfed. However during summer the crop can be grown only under assured irrigation and it needs about 5-6 irrigation. The crop should be irrigated at the following critical growth stages to minimize water.

Fertilizer requirement for Soybean Farming.

Application of 25-30 C.L.FYM at the time of sowing proved better results. 20 kg sulphur , 25 Kg Zinc sulphate and 10 Kg Borax should be applied per hector. Drill all fertilizer at depth of 6-7 cm. To obtain good growth and optimum yield, take spray of Urea@3kg/150 Ltr of water on 60th and 75th day after sowing.

Seed required for sowing one hectare farm land is in between 75.0 Kg. and 80.0 Kg.

Planting material Treatment for Soybean Farming.

Before sowing seeds are treated with rhizobium culture. To protect seeds from soil borne diseases, treat seeds with Thiram + Carbendazim or Captan@3gm per kg of seed. After chemical treatment, treat seed with Trichoderma viride@4-5 gm/kg of seed.

Best cultivation practices for Soybean Farming.

To keep field weed free, two hand weeding are required, take first hand weeding 15-20 days after sowing and second 30-40 days after sowing.

Use of pre-emergent herbicides against hogweed and other grasses is recommended initially followed up by post-emergent weed control at an early growth stage if required.

Weeds at crop maturity can delay harvest and block machinery and are best desiccated one to two weeks before harvest.
