Food is a necessity for every living being starting from invisible bacteria to sky tall plants. Soil is the major source of their food. Farmers use external fertilizer to increase the yield in order to cover up the food demand.
Fertilizer also brings some drawbacks with them. High dose of fertilizer is poisoning the soil and sometimes brings other pests and diseases to the plants.
Application of fertilizer gradually increases with the increase of the population. In India, the usage of deadly pesticides accounts for 30% of the total usage of pesticides in India.
Currently, the central committee has been reviewing the use of 66 pesticides and recommended the ban of 13 pesticides, and banning out the rest by end of 2020, the process is still on.
Here we list the most harmful and banned pesticides. A very low dose of these is also very harmful for all the living kinds.
Benomyl is a fungicide introduced in the year 1968. Benomyl is toxic to selected microorganisms and such soil organisms such as earthworms, small insects. Application of Benomyl helps the plants( fruits, nuts, vegetables, turf, and field crops) resist against the fungal disease.
Carbaryl an insecticide. Carbaryl had been registered for use in pesticide products since 1959but now it is banned. It is used to control aphids, fire ants, fleas, ticks, spiders, and many other outdoor pests.
Diazinon is an insecticide. And used for insect control on fruit, vegetable, nut and field crops. Diazinon Had been used as an insecticide since 2004.
It is an ornamental plant fungicide. Used for fungal diseases like they rust, mildew and blight. Fenarimol is harmful to the aquatic animal.
Linuron is a herbicide. Used for broadleaf and grassy weeds on annuals and perennials crops like in soybean, cotton, potato, corn, bean, pea, winter wheat, asparagus, carrot, and fruit crops. It is also used on crops stored in warehouses and storerooms.
6. Methyl Parathion
Methyl Parathion is an insecticide and banned from the European Union, China, Japan, and other countries. It was used on cotton, soybean and vegetable fields before.
7. Methoxyethyl mercury chloride
Methoxyethyl mercury chloride is a white crystalline solid. It is used exclusively for seed treatment. It applies to Sugar cane, pineapple against surface born diseases of seed potatoes and flower bulbs and, seed-borne diseases of cereals, legumes and root crops.
Tridemorph was a fungicide commercial first used in 1969. Tridemorph was applied widely on fruit crops. It was used for controlling especially powdery mildew. Tridemorph was harmful to aquatic life.
